Grading Scale:
Grades are calculated according to the following scale: 91-100 percent = A; 81-90 = B; 71-80 = C; 61-70 = D; 60 and below = F.  Note the cut-off for “A” grades!

Notes on Grading:
*) All assignments are due on the date listed. Extensions and make-up exams will be given only with proof of a medical emergency. Exceptions for personal emergencies will not be granted on a case-by-case basis.

*) You are expected to attend class regularly. Exams will cover material presented in lectures, films and readings. Some materials will not be discussed in class; some lectures will not be covered in reading assignments. Students who miss class are responsible for obtaining the material.

*) The University's policies regarding cheating, plagiarism, fabrication, and academic dishonesty will be strictly observed. This includes providing accurate and complete documentation of any materials consulted in the course of completing written work. If you are unsure of these policies, they are printed in the Code of Academic Integrity in the Undergraduate Catalogue. The Code is also excerpted in the Schedule of Classes.

*) Evaluation of all written work will be based on substance, evidence, and writing ability. Unless specifically instructed otherwise, all materials quoted or consulted must be cited with full publication references; failure to cite materials may be deemed plagiarism. In addition, grammar, spelling and style will be considered in calculating the grade.
