Cultural
Models, Environmental Values, and Environmental Decision-Making
Michael
Paolisso, Principal Investigator
This
project responds to the need for the development and evaluation of
research tools for the synthesis and communication of environmental
values. Building upon environmental anthropology research that
is on-going with stakeholder groups on the Chesapeake Bay (see Cultural
Models of Environment and Pollution Project), this project seeks to
investigate and assess how cultural model methodology can be used
to identify and disseminate information on environmental values that
is useful to multiple stakeholders involved in environmental decision-making
for targeted resource use issues.
Funding
for this project is provided by the U.S. Environmental Protection
Agency.
