Minimum Vessel Analysis- Robinson House Site
In Dr. Paul Shackel's Archaeology Heritage Resource Laboratory artifacts
from those found at the
Robinson House Site in Manassas Battlefield National Park, in Manassas,
Virginia were analyzed. Erika Martin, from the Applied Anthropology Program,
and an employee of the National Park Service, performed a minimum vessel
analysis of the glass and ceramic artifacts excavated from this site as
her internship project. Erika uncovered detailed information about the
various types and quantity of glass and ceramic products used by the Robinson
family, in order to shed light on the lives of a free African-American
family living during the Civil War and Jim Crow eras.
