Dr. Katherine Pedro Beardsley, Assistant Dean for Undergraduate Programs

Katherine Pedro Beardsley Dr. Beardsley received her undergraduate degree at Oregon State University and her Master's and Doctorate at the University of Minnesota. For more than eleven years, Dr. Beardsley worked at the University of Minnesota, University of Maryland, Baltimore and University of Maryland, College Park in several administrative student affairs positions before moving to the College of Behavioral and Social Sciences, where she has served for fifteen years.

 

Dr. Beardsley has been active in a number of professional organizations where she has held various positions of responsibilities. Currently, she is the Past President of the Maryland Association for Higher Education, the Chapter Advisor for Alpha Lamda Delta, and Treasurer of Phi Kappa Phi. She also has been awarded a number of honorary memberships in several honor societies in which she has been recognized for her work with students. These include Alpha Lambda Delta, Phi Kappa Phi, Phi Eta Sigma, Golden Key National Honor Society, and Omicron Delta Kappa. Dr. Beardsley's husband, Robert, is Professor and Associate Dean for the School of Pharmacy at the University of Maryland, Baltimore. They have one son, Kyle, who graduated from the University in May 2001 with honors and a double degree in Economics and Government and Politics. He currently is pursuing his Ph.D. in political science from the University of California, San Diego. Dr. Beardsley's hobbies are biking, hiking and photography.
