Beth Workman, Communications Director

Beth joined the University of Maryland in 1990 as a media relations specialist in University Advancement (now University Relations). In that position, she was responsible for internal and external communication activities for several academic and administrative units on campus, including the College of Behavioral and Social Sciences. She joined the College of Behavioral and Social Sciences in 1999 in the newly created position of Communications Director. Among her responsibilities are newsletter production, website development, speech writing and special events management.

Prior to joining the University of Maryland, Ms. Workman was communications manager for Goodwill Industries of America, Inc., the corporate office for the 226-member nonprofit organization dedicated to helping people with disabilities and other special needs. A graduate of St. Bonaventure University, she began her career in the Washington, D.C. office of Manning, Selvage & Lee, a leading public relations agency.
