Sanjay Chugh received his Ph.D. from the University of Pennslyvania in 2004 and joined the University of Maryland in 2007 after serving as a staff economist at the Federal Reserve Board. His primary research interests are in constructing dynamic general equilibrium business cycle models, with a focus on understanding principles important for the conduct of monetary policy. His current research emphasizes how and to what extent modeling one-on-one relationships in goods markets and labor markets sheds new light on some conventional thinking in macroeconomics. His research has been published in the Journal of Monetary Economics and the Review of Economic Dynamics. Professor Chugh teaches courses in undergraduate and graduate macroeconomics, and he has taught courses in macroeconomic theory, monetary theory, and international finance at Georgetown University, John Hopkins University, and the University of Pennsylvania. He is also a dedicated runner, having completed the Marine Corps Marathon in Washington, D.C. twice and the Philadelphia Marathon three times.
