Anton Korinek joined the University of Maryland in 2007 after receiving his Ph.D. from Columbia University. His fields of interest are international finance, macroeconomics, public finance, and econometrics. In his current research, Anton focuses on the causes and consequences of foreign currency-denominated debts in emerging markets, the effects of taxation in contestable democracies where tax regimes change over time, and the correction of household surveys for the effects of unit non-response.
