To apply, go to the application form page by clicking the red button at the bottom of this page, print out that page, fill out the form, and send to

Include with the form:
1. An official transcript from each college or university you have attended.
2. A short statement (150- 300 words) about your interests, activities, memberships, and studies. This course is usually oversubscribed; explain, in all modesty, why you would be a good person to have along. Be sure to mention knowledge of languages and what (other than Italian food and warm weather) particularly attracted you to this program. These statements are read carefully help us to tailor the course to your interests and abilities.
3. A check for $30 payable to the University of Maryland. This is a charge for processing your
application and is not refundable.
4. A letter of recommendation from a member of the faculty where you are now enrolled.

You may be asked to interview with the instructor as part of the admission process.

The deadline for course applications is September 30, 2007.

For the convenience of those who apply early, we consider and often accept applications as they come in. Thus, there may be no spaces left by the deadline. Apply early!

The Study Abroad Office offers scholarships for in-state students to attend Winter Term programs. These scholarships are awarded on the basis of academic achievement and financial need.

The deadline for scholarship applications is September 16, 2007.
