An internship is a supervised learning experience combining theoretical course work and hands-on experience in work situations. It allows students to gain experience in a chosen field, initiate professional contacts, learn to perform and interact at a professional level and explore career options. The internship is often related to a student's career goals. In the College of Behavioral and Social Sciences, internship credit can be earned through individual departments (e.g., course number: GVPT 386 or CCJS 386) or at the college level for more general internships (e.g., Course number: BSOS 386). Please refer students to their departmental or college advisor for further information.
