Majors within the College of Behavioral and Social Sciences who complete 12 or more credits (excluding Pass and Satisfactory grades) with a semester grade point average of 4.000 will be named to the College of Behavioral and Social Sciences Distinguished Dean's List.
Dean's List
Majors within the College of Behavioral and Social Sciences who complete 12 or more credits (excluding Pass and Satisfactory grades) with a semester grade point average of 3.500-3.999 will be named to the College of Behavioral and Social Sciences Dean's List.
Dean's Academic Scholars
The Dean's Academic Scholar designation is the highest academic honor the College of Behavioral and Social Sciences confers on graduating seniors. A student selected as a College of Behavioral and Social Sciences' Dean's Academic Scholar is one who has completed sixty University of Maryland credits; earned a cumulative GPA of 3.80 or higher prior to completing his/her last semester; and has no judicial or academic integrity violations on their student records.
Commencement Speaker
For the December graduation ceremony, a committee selects a graduating senior to give an address at the college's graduation ceremony. All degree applicants with 3.50 or better grade point average are encouraged to apply for this honor.
