What is BSOS Undecided?
The purpose of this designation is
to allow us to work together to select a major that will match your interests,
abilities, and educational goals. BSOS Undecided is valid for one
semester only - if you do not change your major during this semester,
an administrative block will be placed on your record, prohibiting you from
completing any registration edits.

Major Walk-Ins: Students can get immediate help in choosing or changing
their academic major. No appointment is required.
Career Counseling Services: A normal part of your development in college is
identifying who you are in relation to a future career. You can get help with
this process at the Counseling Center. Knowing how your personality, values,
interests, and priorities relate to your professional future is important to
making successful career decisions, whether you are choosing/changing your
academic major, seeking a career direction, considering your first
professional job, or thinking about graduate school. Schedule an appointment
with a Counselor.
EDCP108C – Career Clarification: Choosing a Major – 10-week, one credit class taught by
staff at the University Counseling Center. This course is designed to help
students choose a major, confirm a choice already made, or generate
alternative majors. Individual interests, values, personality style, and
academic skills are explored

difficult and confusing. Like many students, you may feel this way especially
if you are expected to commit to a major before you have even begun to think
about future career possibilities, or if you have many interests. Choosing a
major and choosing a career are not necessarily the same thing...
Resource Room: Over 250 books that have information on various career
options
Career Counseling: Professional staff can help you evaluate options and
overcome any barriers to decision making.
Workshops: In the fall and spring semesters, we present numerous
programs and panels with a focus on specific majors and career fields.
Focus-2 – Computer-Assisted Career
Exploration: It will identify and inform you
about several careers that typically match a person with your interests and
values. We encourage you to meet with a counselor after completing
Focus-2.
