“Nightmare in April“ (formerly known as Taxes) - 2002 Concept: Christian
Davenport and Nejla Y. Yatkin Commissioned by
the D.C. Commission on the Arts and Humanities, this piece ventures
into the mindset of an individual who is compelled by circumstance and
law to wade through all aspects of their life over the past year (documenting
diverse actions, placing them into neatly organized piles and drawing
conclusions about who they are and what they have and have not done).
The reconstruction project is simply taxing (we could not resist). |
