Research interests: My primary research interests
include direct democracy and voter turnout. I am particularly intrigued by how
existing institutions affect turnout levels, why they do so, and the impact that
reforming such institutions would have on overall participation rates. More generally,
I am interested in what can be done to raise turnout in the United States to
comparable levels of other Western democracies, and whether doing so is a desirable
goal.
