The first Pi Sigma Alpha chapter was founded in 1920 at the University of Texas to bring students and faculty together in the study of government and politics. Since then, over 460 chapters have been started across the nation, with at least one chapter in every state, Washington, D.C., and, as of 1995, Guam. The Alpha Zeta chapter of Pi Sigma Alpha was founded in 1938 at the University of Maryland, College Park. Since that time, the chapter has hosted a variety of activities and worked closely with the Department of Government & Politics. The chapter currently has about 80 members who represent the cream of the Department of Government & Politics.
The National Pi Sigma Alpha office also informed us that we won the 2005 National Best Chapter award for schools with enrollment of over 15,000! |
