Membership

Membership in Pi Sigma Alpha is by invitation only and is based solely upon academic merit. In order to be invited, a prospective member must be registered as a Government & Politics major, have completed at least 56 credits, have completed at least 10 credits of GVPT coursework and one upper-level (300-400) GVPT class, and have at least a 3.5 GPA in GVPT courses and a 3.4 GPA overall. Members are invited to join twice a year; once in the Fall and once in the Spring.

The officers of Pi Sigma Alpha have no say as to who is admitted and are not responsible for the compilation of the invitation list. If you qualify for admission and are not invited, it may be due to an oversight. Should this be the case, please contact the Vice-President of Member Services, at UMDPSA@gmail.com. While most students eligible for membership are invited, a good number of exceptional students do manage to slip through the cracks every semester.
