3. Center for Advanced Defense Studies Internship
The Center for Advanced Defense Studies (CADS) is seeking research interns for spring 2009. CADS is a non-profit, nongovernmental think-tank headquartered in Washington DC that provides strategic insight to decision makers in government, private industry, and the investment community. CADS conducts research and analysis on the relationship between technology and global trends (social, political, economic) and seek to help translate those analyses into sound public policy and innovative solutions for the private sector.
The internship is for motivated and inquisitive undergraduate students with an interest in policy, globalization, business and technology, but more importantly an open mind and a desire to learn. Interns will actively contribute to ongoing research agendas and may have opportunities to craft their own projects in line with the center’s mission. Interns are expected to devote 6-8 hours per week for research which can be completed on their own time and which will be presented at weekly feedback sessions. Through the CADS internship program, students will acquire hands-on research experience and insight into future career opportunities. They will also gain valuable knowledge about the relationships between government, the science and technology sector, and the business world.
CADS encourages students to submit a resume, a short cover letter, and a 2-3 page writing sample from one of their classes to Dan Lawner at dan.lawner@c4ads.org. We will be holding interviews through the end of January, and the program will begin the week of Monday, February 16th, 2009.
