> Oppenheimer Scholarship
The Oppenheimer Scholarships are three academic awards worth $1500 each that the Department of Government & Politics will award to three sophomore GVPT majors each year. Students are selected based on their financial need and demonstrated ability in GVPT coursework.
Requirements:
- Two letters of recommendation (preferably from GVPT faculty members).
- A short essay (1-2 pages) specifying career and academic goals. Student’s commitment to government and politics through current activities and future career goals should be emphasized.
- An official transcript
- Statement of financial need (a brief summary and a print out of your financial aid package from the Office of Student Financial Aid is acceptable.)
- A resume highlighting campus community activities and/or internship/research experiences since attending UMCP.
We encourage all students with strong academic records to apply! All application materials for the award must be submitted in a single packet by March 9, 2009.
Incomplete applications will not be accepted!
