A subscription to Audiology Today (AT), the Academy’s bi-monthly (six times per year) magazine
A subscription to AT Extra, the Academy’s e-newsletter;
Student rates for attendance at AudiologyNOW!®, the Academy’s premiere national convention
Opportunities to participate in a comprehensive student track and other student activities at AudiologyNOW!®

Access to HearCareers®, the Academy’s employment services program;
Access to a dedicated SAA Web site
Access to members-only areas on both the Academy and SAA Web sites
The most valuable intangible benefit of SAA membership is the voice given to students through participation in activities of the American Academy of Audiology. This includes representation on Academy committees and task forces and the opportunity for the SAA president to attend the Academy’s Board of Directors meetings.
The local SAA chapter at the University of Maryland allows audiology students to interact with other classmates, within and among class cohorts, and provides opportunities for a richer student life through mentorship, educational experiences outside the classroom, community involvement, and humanitarian efforts.
According to the bylaws of the National Student Academy of Audiology, membership in the University of Maryland Chapter of SAA is open to all students enrolled in Au.D. or Ph.D audiology programs and who are members of the national SAA. The chapter can provide associate member status to undergraduates from the university or chapter area who express an interest in exploring further study in audiology. Individuals who are interested in joining the Maryland SAA should contact Hallie Plevinsky at hplevinsky@hesp.umd.edu for more information.
