Master's Students in SLP Awards:
- Peitzu Tsai's (M.A. SLP) thesis/candidacy research was accepted to the prestigious International Conference on the Mental Lexicon, held in 2008 in Banff, Alberta.
- Amy Strekas' (M.A. SLP) poster on her MA thesis was accepted to the Boston University Conference on Language Development in Fall 2008. This is an extremely competitive conference with a very high rejection rate.
- Anna Synnestvedt (M.A. SLP) was awarded an ASHA travel grant to present her poster on narrative skills in children with focal epilepsy in Chicago in November 2008.
- Christine Virion (M.A. SLP, 2008 ) was awarded the NIDCD Student Fellowship to present her MA thesis project at the Clinical Aphasiology Conference in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, in May 2008. The project, titled "Go aphasia!: Examining the efficacy of Constraint-Induced Language Therapy for agrammatic aphasia" was mentored by Dr. Faroqi-Shah. These merit-based fellowships include a travel stipend and mentoring opportunities.
- Inbal Eschel (M.A. SLP, 2004) received a Student Travel Award to attend the 2004 American Speech-Language-Hearing Association Convention in Philadelphia, PA.

Darlene Foster (M.A. SLP, 2008) was a recipient of a 2004 Students Preparing for Academic & Research Careers ( SPARC) Award from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association. This award is intended to promote PhD career development for communication sciences and disorders undergraduate and graduate students.
