Expected Deadlines for Final Graduation Requirements, Audiology Graduate Students

Please note that you are responsible for filing any forms/documents. Failure to file will result in postponement of graduation for a full semester. The Department cannot file these forms for you. You must deliver them to the appropriate offices yourself, in person, unless noted otherwise.

Year 2 - Spring Semester

  • Choose Dissertation Advisor
  • Dissertation topic due and approved by Advisor: February
  • Dissertation outline due and approved by Advisor: May

Year 2 - Summer Semester

  • Dissertation proposal first draft due to Advisor: July
  • Dissertation proposal second draft due to Advisor: August
  • Institutional Review Board (IRB) proposal due to Advisor: early August à submission to Department Human Subjects Review Committee (and IRB)

Year 3 - Fall Semester

  • Collection of pilot data (after IRB approval received): September
  • Dissertation proposal meeting: September/October
  • IRB modifications (if necessary) submitted to Department Human Subjects Review Committee: after approval of dissertation proposal

Year 3 - Spring Semester

  • Comprehensive Examinations: March/April

Year 4 - Fall Semester

  • Submit paperwork to Graduate School for Admission to Candidacy (after passing comps)
