Capstone Research Day, Spring 2009

Each spring, fourth year students in the Doctoral Program in Clinical Audiology present their completed Capstone Research Projects to commitee members, as well as interested faculty and students on Capstone Research Day. This event is a culmination of extensive time and research into the student's field of choice, and gives them an opportunity to present and defend their findings.

This year's presenters were:
Christina Bridges- Determining evidence that ECMO causes permanent sensorineural hearing loss in infants.

Sienna Burke (shown right)- Influence of calibration method on DPOAE measurements: I. test performance.

Nicole Craver- Directional benefit and preference for listeners with different degrees of hearing loss.

Sarah Friedman- Effects of blindness on auditory temporal processing of speech in older adults.

Kelly Hoffard (shown bottom right)- Auditory phenotype of inherited bone marrow failure syndromes.

Krystal Strazik- Effects of video-watching versus contralateral broadband noise on OAEs.

Jian Yu (shown below)- Speech intonation recognition by native speakers of Mandarin Chinese and American English: use of F0, intensity, and duration cues.
