Research/Clinical Activities

My research focuses on physiological measures of auditory system function with the long-term goal of improving the ability to diagnose hearing loss and auditory system pathology in hard-to-test populations such as infants.

Current research includes investigations of distortion product otoacoustic emissions (DPOAEs) and the prediction of hearing thresholds. This project is supported by the New Century Scholars Reserach Grant from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Foundation. Previous work has included investigation of the 2f2-f1 DPOAE for detection of hearing loss and suppression of the 2f1-f2 DPOAE in hearing-impaired children.

Other research includes investigations of wideband reflectance in adults.
