A technique which permits rapid determination of behavioral audiometric thresholds for pure tone in the parakeet (Meopittacus undulatus) is described. A restrained bird was trained by avoidance conditioning and its threshold deetermined for 10 frequencies between 0.25 and 8.5 kHz.
