Academic Performance Review at 45 Credits
Students who enter UMCP as freshmen directly from high school and declare psychology as a major before the end of schedule adjustment of the second semester must complete the following requirements no later than the semester in which they have earned 45 credits (not including AP/IB credits).
- PSYC 100 with a grade of "B" or higher
- If AP or IB credit for PSYC 100, must take PSYC 221 and earn a grade of "B" or higher.

Students who anticipate that they will be unsuccessful in passing their academic performance review (APR) on time or who have been dismissed from the psychology major may appeal to the Director of Undergraduate Studies in the Psychology Department.
Appeals for postponement of APR deadline will require documentation of unusual, extenuating or special circumstances and a clear action plan for completing requirements.
Students who wish to request an exception to Psychology Department Policy because of unusual, extenuating, or special circumstances are invited to submit an appeal explaining the request to the Director of Undergraduate Studies in the Psychology Department.
Appeal forms are available in Room 1107 Bio-Psyc. Building or you can download the form here: (Click here for Appeal Forms in PDF format).
