For students who are interested in participating in cognitive or developmental psychology research, the Maryland Infant Studies Laboratory provides you the opportunity to gain valuable research skills.
By registering for Research in Psychology (Psyc479) students can work under the supervision of Dr. Woodard studying infants' understanding of others and intentionality. This undergraduate research class will be an introduction to issues, laboratory techniques, and research methodology in child development. Students will assist in both developing and running research projects. The empirical research will be accompanied by a critical reading and discussion on topics such as, infants understanding of intentionality, attention, theory of mind and development of language.
Students will be expected to participate in weekly meetings, read journal articles, write response papers and deliver oral presentations. Students will be required to work at the lab for a minimum of 6 hours a week.
If you are interested in participating in lab research please contact Sarah DeWath, the lab manager at mislabmanager@gmail.com. |
