SADAT ESSAY FOR PEACE COMPETITION

A Competition Open to High School Students in the State of Maryland

Sponsored by the Anwar Sadat Chair for Peace and Development  & the Office of Undergraduate Admissions University of Maryland, College Park

The Sadat Essay for Peace, held in conjunction with the Sadat Lecture, was established at the University of Maryland in the fall of 2002.  The project encourages young people to think about issues related to world peace, and to contemplate the impact that President Sadat’s legacy of working  toward peace has had on those issues.
