Subscribing
Log in to the email account you want to register
with the listserv.
Be certain your email is sent as plain text (no html or rtf formatting).
To subscribe to the class list you need to
send an email to: listserv@listserv.umd.edu
Depending on which list you are subscribing to the mail item should contain
either:
subscribe
socy201a name-of-subscriber
or:
subscribe
socy201b name-of-subscriber
For example, I would enter:
subscribe socy201a Alan Neustadtl
All listserv messages will be sent to the
account you used to subscribe to the listserv.
Unsubscribing
If you want to leave the list, repeat the
above process above but replace "subscribe"
with "unsubscribe", leave your name off,
and enter the appropriate list (socy201a or socy201b).
For example:
unsubscribe socy201a or
unsubscribe socy201b
Posting
Messages to list subscribers are sent to:
socy201a@listserv.umd.edu or
socy201b@listserv.umd.edu
As an alternate address, messages can also be sent to: socy201a@umd.edu
or socy201b@umd.edu which
will forward the posting to the appropriate listserv.umd.edu address. |
