A. Objectives

OILWATCH is an international network, mainly from tropical countries, of ecological, human rights, religious and local organisations, that was conformed in 1995, to support the resistance initiatives of exploration and exploitation activities  of fossil hydrocarbons in the tropics. It also denounce the local and global impacts of these companies from a  perspective of Southern Countries and seeks to educate the public in general about the necessity of searching clean, sustainable and ecological energies.  OILWATCH es una red internacional, principalmente de paìses tropicales, de organizaciones ecologistas, de derechos humanos, religiosas y locales, que desde el año 1995 apoya iniciativas locales de resistencia a las actividades de explotación de hidrocarburos fósiles en los trópicos. Denuncia los impactos locales y globales desde una perspectiva de países del  Sur y busca educar y concientizar al público en general sobre la necesidad de buscar energías limpias, democráticas y ecológicas.
