Sociology 498: Homelessness

Rossi: Down and Out in America

Rossi's chapter 1 thesis:

8: "...homelessness is more properly viewed as the most aggravated state of a more prevalent problem, extreme poverty."

9:"It is the major thesis of this book that extreme poverty is at the root of both literal homelessness and being precariously housed."

10: "It is a prime contention of this book that extreme poverty and homelessness are adjoining sements at the bottom of the American standard-of-living continuum."
